Video Game Redesign Brainstorming

The inspiration that I used for the creation of this game is that of divine inspiration.  I felt like doing something realistic yet still out of this world.  I thought, what do we have on earth that I like, and I thought, BALLOONS!  I am unable to upload the pictures for some reason, but there is supposed to be a picture of a man hanging from a group of balloons, and one of a world made entirely of balloons.

Barbara Kruger Assignment

In this piece I see words telling about the breath of life.  There is a smoky haze in front of a mouth and nose.  Coincidentally, the mouth and nose are the parts ofthe body that we breathe through.

The message I was attempting to convey through this picture was that of youtuh.  When our society is telling us we should move out of our parent's houses and move on with our lives as young as 17.  While all the young people are striving to become aged, many old people turn in their minds are trying to do things they missed doing in their youth.  We should try to be young while we can, and age only when we must.

I like this piece of art for the most part, though using picture I did took away from the dramatic effect I was hoping to get.

Flash Game Reflection

What I like most, what could be improved, and how is it better than the orginal?

The thing I like most about my version of the game is not the main goal, the landing pads or the difficulty in the levels.  My favourite part of the game that I created are the bright colours and the small details off to the side or in plain sight that make it just a little more interesting.  There are happy faces in the maps if you look closely, which can definitely lighten your mood if you are not having a good day, this was my goal in doing such things.

The things that could be improved in the game are the details and the like that were not taken care of carefully.  In the first level there is a balloon sprouting out of the ground with part it's circle missing.  It would have been far more visually appealing for the eye candy factor if it were a full circle.

Barbara Kruger Criticism

I chose the "Your Body Is A Battleground" piece, and in my personal opinion, the image is half negative and with good reason.  The bold writing backed by red in the centre catches your attention and thus keeps your eye on the picture.
The message that I got from this piece is that your body is constantly in a struggle with itself, emotions fighting and always in competition.  Sometimes one emotion will take over but is a temporary victory, with another soon to take it's place.
I personally do not like krugger's work because it is not busy enough for me.  I like being able to move my eye around a picture and see lots of details on lots of different objects.  In my humble opinion this picture is boring.

Phototext

The thing I like most about these images is the use of the photo to illustrate indirectly the mood the words convey.  The words in this image relate to the photo in that the dam is broken, but not completely.  It is a defence against the forces of nature, and the majority of it is still holding on, and being strong.  It has a weakness, but not one so great as to take down the whole structure.  This is the main strong point of the whole image, the relation between the words and the original photograph.

The thing that can be improved is the flow of the words into the photo.  They do not blend well and in the black and white version, they actually stand out more than a pleasurable amount.  In one of the pictures, the words blend into the river but I do not like the way that they wrap around the riverbank.  It doesn't look as good as I want it to look.  However, there is always room for improvement, and if given more time, I would likely be able to create this image in the way that I would think best.

In my opinion, the fill bucket picture that I did looks the best because I love bright colours and high contrast pictures.  The colours are absolutely ludicrous, and that is what I love about it.  The text looks like it is graffitied on the dam, making it look natural in the image.  The only bad thing about it is the amount of distortion on the word "hold."

Supership

"This personal spaceship, submarine, hovercraft, and boat is capable of reaching speeds of up to 2 lightyears per hour in space, and reaching land and underwater speeds of up to 200 miles per hour.  The engine mounted behind the drivers seat has the same turbine engine as an F-18 Hornet Fighter.  This engine is for Space travel and submarine functions.  When Submarining, The Supership extends a propeller into the water to push it forwards.  The engine on the bottom is a balanced radial engine that balances the ship while hovering.  This can be used on roads without kicking up dust while using the powersaving, low pressure tank.  With this machine, you yourself could become an explorer of Space, and the unknown.  Get your's now!"-Matthew Zeinstra

I think is successful because it makes previously unexplainable phenomenon of worm hole travel available to the general public through a portal making device on the front of the machine, and the other end of the hole is a location determined via Universal Positioning System to within a day's light travel. The land travel components make day to day travel on Earth a breeze, when using the hovercraft mode you can simply fly above the traffic jams below!  The revolutionary new engine design is ultra efficient on fuel, mandatory on those long, cross galaxy trips.  The previously undiscovered material was found on Mars, when testing a prototype of carbon fibre, and is 15 times lighter and smoother than any other material yet discovered in the Universe.

I do not think this invention would be plausible, it's only weakness.  If there was such an engine as a balanced radial engine, there would never be a helicopter crash ever again, unless it was due to pilot error.  There is no engine possible that can go more than mach 20 in the atmosphere without disintegrating, a very important factor when considering the consequences of rationalizing flight at 2 lightyears.  The only weakness to this invention is reality.

Leonardo Da Vinci

1. I think Leonardo Da Vinci thought of these inventions because the world was in a slumber.  In order for people's technological and creative minds to be free, they needed a leader.  He is also a major part of HISTORY. Yea, HISTORY, Mrs. George.
2. I think Leonardo's Helicopter invention is the most important invention on the sheet because it revolutionized flight, and the way wars are fought.  The HISTORY of flight is one of impossibilities.

Brainstorming
-thinking cap-This thinking cap looks like a snowmobiling helmet and increases alpha wave activity before exams and tests, and if used regularly is actually proven to increase IQ
-teleporter-this teleporting technology is a personal chip that is planted into the body, and is programed to read brainwaves as command, and POOF!  You are in a new place.
-Robotic warriors- Trained soldiers will have a visual representation of the battlefield in a helmet, fed through a camera on their robotic counter parts.  The robots will be controlled by soldiers wearing motion sensing nodes on the body, and the robots will kick as much ass as the legitimate marines.

History Assignment

Today, Mrs. George made me quit my history assignment, which I did not appreciate in the slightest. Thanks Mrs. George, I'm probably gonna fail now D:<

My Hidden Self

5 Things That People Don't Know:
-I am ridiculously obsessed with graffiti
-I like reading books, particularly fantasy
-I am usually outgoing
-playing guitar is one of my favourite things to do
-I like being outdoors, and meditation

My Friends Would Say:
-I am very exuberant and outgoing
-I am phenomenal at skateboarding
-I am creative, calm and relaxed
If there is one thing that I wish I could show more of to the world, it would be that I am actually quite intelligent and intellectual.

My Goals For The Future are:
-To be a history teacher
-Join the army
-Visit the moon and find an alien
-I would like to have a pilot's license one day
-Fly peace mission instead of bombings over Iraq

To most people, I am a rather quiet person that keeps to himself, but I am a very outgoing person with people I am good friends with and I love to fly aircraft.  My dream is to fly missions of peace instead of war. I am also quite the history buff and patriot.

In my opinion, this image represents me perfectly, because it includes all of the things which I love and hold close to my heart.  In my own picture, I am playing what looks like an A minor chord, but that isn't important.  The important thing is that I have my guitar that most people associate with me.  My shirt itself represents my personality, because being a Buddhist I like being close to nature and the elements.  The graffiti is representative of my love for art and the fact that I am a graffiti artist, The music notes are more symbols of my love for music, and the Canadian flag behind them shows my patriotism.  There are jets that show my dream of being able to soar like an eagle,  and the picture of a kid doing a varial heelflip down a stair set shows my ability to skateboard, and he is even doing my favourite trick.  The peace symbol on the moon, the ring of caligraphy and the meditating silhouette all represent my overall goal in life, to achieve peace and unity in myself and with the world.  The soldier on the beach shows my respect for those who died for our freedom, not to mention my obsession with history.  The background of a beach at night is very symbolic of my personality in that it is peaceful.  I am more often than not a very peaceful person, and peace is my life goal, through whatever means I achieve it.

The most successful part of this self imaging is the silhoueete of the meditating man, mostly because it represents me so well.  I spend a good amount of time every day doing so, and the rest of my day is spent trying to find peace.

In my eyes the least successful part is the skateboarder, solely because I am not a professional skateboarder, unlike the one in the picture.  I am better than some on a skateboard, but if were perfroming a less complex trick it would be more my style.

The only thing I would change if I did this again is I would choose a different background, perhaps a forest with a river running through it in the mountians of China.  That is my favourite kind of environment, and I enjoy being outdoors in a forest.  I want to live in a rainforest like that one day.  That is the only thing I would change.
